This series of paintings draws inspiration from the wish fulfilling ‘Kalpavriksha’ mentioned in ancient Sanskrit literature. According to lore, this mythological divine tree held the power to grant all desires. Its branches, made of gold and precious stones, bore every kind of fruit and fl ower, and the apple of the tree could confer eternal life or ‘nirvana.’ Many sages and munis have meditated under the shade of this tree.
